Memorial Day is a time to relect and honor those who gave all fo rour freedoms, including the freedom to race around dirt tracks from state to state. For those that paid the ultimate sacrifice, and to those living who currently serve or formerly served in the armed forces, we thank you.
This particular Memorial Day Weekend was a forgettable one for the racing archives. After Wednesday's show at the Crawford County Speedway was rained out, the Bash Bros headed to the Mason City Motor Speedway. Cody started 15th in the feature and ran right around there until his motor got hot and he decided to pull off. Brock broke a birdcage in the heat race. The team busted tail to get the car fixed and took a provisional into the feature just to throw a driveshaft four laps in.
Both Friday's event at the Chateau Raceway and Saturday's race at the Deer Creek Speedway were rained out. We were finally able to fire the engines again Sunday at the Upper Iowa Speedway. Nothing went according to plan here. Both drivers started and finished near the tail of their heat races, with Cody finishing 17th in the main event and Brock being the first out in 25th.
The team decided to seek redemption on Monday where a $2,000 payday awaited at the Peoria Speedway. Peoria Speedway wasn't very fun either. Cody hit a car that doesn't know how to "leave a lane" and Brock hit a mine tire running eighth in the feature.
The team has a week off to regroup and repair before heading back to Kansas and Oklahoma in two weeks for a pair of USMTS Central Region tilts with the Nitro Lubricants/Dynamic Drivelines/LT Designs machines.Bash Bros Team Flat Bill
